Team USA is celebrating its first gold medals after an action-packed opening weekend at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Illia Manlinin, nicknamed the “Quad God,” delivered an electrifying performance in figure skating, giving Team USA’s seven skaters a one-point win over Japan. In the mountains of Cortina, Breezy Johnson clinched gold in the women’s downhill, while Lindsey Vonn crashed just second into her quest for one more gold. NBC’s Peter Alexander reports for TODAY.
