NBA commissioner Adam Silver joins TODAY to celebrate the return of basketball on NBC for the first time in 23 years with the 2025-2026 season. Silver talks about the current state of dynasties in the league, breakout stars to watch, and how the game has evolved since it was last broadcast on NBC in 2002, saying, “Last time we were on NBC, big men could never shoot the way they can now.” Silver also reveals how the revamped All-Star game will take a page out of golf’s Ryder Cup format and confirms that WNBA stars will get a pay increase after the league’s stars called for a larger share of revenue. “They are going to get a big increase in this cycle of collective bargaining and they deserve it.”
