Egypt.. A unique Coptic icon was displayed in the Matrouh Antiquities Museum
The Egyptian Matrouh Antiquities Museum announced on Facebook that it will display a unique icon of the Virgin Mary bearing the signature of Jacob Al-Qaysari, dating back to the year 1829 AD.
According to what was stated on the site, the icon is designed from fabric on wood in which the various colors used show the Virgin Mary, a crowned queen on the throne, holding the scepter that ends with a cross in one hand, and with the other hand carrying Jesus Christ, a crowned child, and the prophets David, Solomon, Moses, and Daniel sitting on the clouds. This position of the Virgin is called the "Virgin Queen".
.
It is worth noting that the Matrouh Antiquities Museum contains many artifacts that highlight the most important achievements of the kings of Egypt during different eras, the most important of which is the Pharaonic period.
